Elizabeth Wood Willey is a 1968 graduate of the University of Michigan. She has completed the Spiritual Direction Program from the Dominican Center of Grand Rapids and she is Healing Touch Certified through Healing Touch International.
Footprints of the Soul is a collection of Betsy’s experience as a teacher, spiritual director, community leader and healing touch practitioner. Her book is a wonderful resource for spiritual growth either as an individual or as a group.
Betsy feels most at home in the beauty of God’s wilderness, and has led trips for youth and adults to the Boundary Waters of Minnesota for more than 10 years. She grew up in the Congregational Church, attends a Methodist Church, and now finds her spirituality deeply expressed through Celtic Christianity. Her theology is both ecumenical and inter-faith
" As a spiritual director, I find Footprints of the Soul a life-affirming resource for individuals as well as for groups. I have drawn from a number of the book's creative exercises in my spiritual direction sessions. The 'Journey' on Discernment has been especially helpful. I was privileged to attend one of Mrs. Willey's workshops where she led a selection of journey components from her book. She taught the whole time with enthusiasm and a smile. I see this joy and sense of adventure bubbling up through her text too. I heartily recommend it for broadening and deepening one's spiritual practices. "
- Donna Rathert, Spiritual Director
" To journey with Footprints of the Soul offers the opportunity to experience prayer more personally and deeply. It is a creative way to enhance the awareness of God's presence in daily life. "
- Sonja M. Stewart Ph.D, Author
" I have had the pleasure of knowing Betsy for the past 25 years. She is an inspirational person, as well as an insightful teacher and leader. Betsy has an ability to harmonize insights from a variety of spiritual and religious traditions and transform them into practical, everyday understandings and personal spiritual applications. At the church I serve, we have successfully used her book as a resource for women's spiritual growth studies. Additionally, Betsy has led two of our women's retreats and a seminar on spirituality for both women and men. Betsy is a very special person.....with a heart for god and a deep sense of compassion and connection to the many people her life touches. "
- Rev. Dr. Robert K. Livingston, Senior Minister - First Congregational church of Ann Arbor
